Born and bred in Whangarei, Ric Butturini wants to make the next generation proud. Passionate, hands-on and good with numbers, he went straight into building after school and gave it his all.

Hometown reputation means everything

Nigel Higgison, the new owner of our Manawatu and Horowhenua franchise, is a local boy born and bred. He spent 19 years running businesses in construction and project management. He’s also worked in almost every aspect of the building industry, from running crews on civil engineering projects and operating drill rigs and cranes in large foundation engineering around New Zealand to building beautiful new homes and multi-unit complexes in the Manawatu area.

Working from home is the new normal

While many employers and employees already enjoyed the benefits of remote work, it wasn’t until the pandemic hit our shores that it became widespread.Companies who had been dragging their feet were forced to ‘make do’ with staff working from home, and many found it worked surprisingly well. Employees are liking it too. One survey suggests that over 70 percent of workers don’t want to go back to the way things were.

Event wrap-up: FIH Hockey Pro League presented by Sentinel Homes

We’re big supporters of Hockey New Zealand – we back many of their smaller events and are the presenting partner for the FIH Pro League. So we couldn’t have been more pleased with New Zealand’s performance this year. We were underdogs, but took home some stunning wins – the men’s team even beat the reigning Olympic champs!
